Flannels

As you might remember, I won some fabric and was gifted some flannels from Tara Darr.  I stitched an envelope purse with a great green plaid flannel and added some wool applique, the front.
The back.
A donation quilt, just need to quilt it.  Love these flannels, some actually look like wool, very soft and easy to sew.

Envelope Purse

A comparison in size of the envelope purse and a regular size purse for Jody to see.  Of course since I carry a backpack, the only purse I could find is my memory purse, yes, you would think I would make some purses for myself.  Yes, you would think.

A Flannel Purse

Working on lots of different projects, this one I can show.  A flannel purse in the making with wool applique.  I've been changing the sizes of the purses some to make them a tiny bit larger.  I machine quilted the flannel using a very thin batting before I stitch the applique and then I will sew on the backing.  Turn it inside out, add the strap and then handstitch the back to the front along the edges and it's done.  A very easy purse to make.

Prim Reindeer Table Mat

I finished stitching the Prim Reindeer Mat.
And then another swing purse sitting on the flannel table runner stitched from the flannels that Tara gave me.  Only a peek of the runner since I'm thinking of sending it off to a mag for consideration.

A Purse

Finished the pink purse and will soon be on it's way to a very sweet, pretty little girl.  I hope she likes it.

A Purse and Wildlife

About the only sewing I was able to accomplish the last few days.  The wildlife and chores are distracting me.  Made this easy little prim purse for a friend, a basic Maggie B pattern except I quilted the fabric since I wasn't going to add any applique.

A baby marmot along the drive, I was taking a walk after dinner and caught him by surprise.  Were was Mom to warn him, he raised his head to see what was going on.

Must not have liked what was happening, he dropped down in this hole under a rock.  Can you see him in the center of the pic,  he still has a piece of grass in his mouth, next time I bet he's stays on alert or closer to mom.

Another surprise, for me, that is, the pronghorn so close to the house.  This is a male with the dark horns, females only have nubs, such an exotic animal.

He made a circle around the house, just in time to scare the female elk who finally decided to come down from the hill to graze.  I've been keeping an eye out for her since I saw a mountain lion coming down from the same area the other night.  The cats and I were glued to the screen, watching the lion as it slowly walked the edge of the rocks at the base of the mountain.

A female pronghorn that was following the male, they ended up with the rest of the herd down in the lower meadow.

Purses and a Pic from the Prim Mag, Oh and Cats

I made more purses the other day, the pink one you've seen, at this rate, I'll have my Christmas shopping done or maybe a gift for a friend for Mother's Day.
A look at the table of contents from the Prim Magazine, I especially like the spool quilt.  I've been wanting to make a really large spool quilt, as in, the spools are huge, not the quilt.
Bailey and Sidney, love seeing them sleeping together.

Another Purse and Traffic on the Trail

Another purse, a quick one using some wildlife fabric that I had when I was making art quilts.  A little antler button that Jim use to make for me from his found antlers for embellishment.
I just added batting and machine quilted it to stabilize the fabric.

The picture is cloudy since the pic is taken from the kitchen window.
Traffic along the drive.
I made that rock fence so long ago, it took me 5 years.  I wanted a rock fence after watching the movie, Babe.

They made it over the rocks, always worry about the one with the broken leg, but she seems to do okay, even had a baby this year.
