Primitive Stockings

I made a few Christmas stockings this past week.  I know, Christmas, jumping right past Fall. These are my two favorites.  The very pink one uses some very old Brannock and Patek striped fabric that is very hard to find.  I'm always on the lookout for more of it since it really adds interest with the bold pink and off white stripes.  The other is a dark red brown stocking that shows the outline stitches around the applique that was done with linen thread.

The newest stockings are a tad smaller.  I've been making them in several sizes depending on the size of the applique design.

Two of my favorite designers who I have come to know over the years share a birthday today, so Happy Birthday to Cherie Ralston and Jan Patek.
