Big Horn Sheep Visiting

I've had two different herds of Big Horn Sheep for the last two days.  The snow has pushed them down.
This is the smaller of the two, grazing in the lower meadow.
I'm using my telephoto lens, so I'm not as close as it looks,  although I did hike down from the house to at least be at their level for better pics.  My knees will complain later.
Have no idea what's up with that horn.

  1. those are wonderful photos!
I'll have to show my Sweetie!
Maybe he lost it in a tussle with one of the other males, for herding rights?

  2. I like to get as close as I can, even with telephoto, you get nice candid shots and more detail. Very glad you bought one so we can see more wonderful photos of your wildlife. It looks too smooth to be a recent break, and if they grow back, I would say a birth defect.
