The landscape is starting to turn green. I'm on the old truck road looking to the main highway and the Yellowstone River.
Snow at the higher elevations
Looking towards Tom Miner, I live at the bottom of that mountain in the background.
Those white specs are new born calves. A ranch not far from where I live. Won't be able to eat red meat now for at least a week.
This is why I need a stronger lens, tiny specs are mule deer appreciating all that green grass to feed on.
Can you tell I love where I live. When I feel sad, I try to remember all the years that Jim and I were able to live together in this beautiful, wild country.
Yellowstone River.
I'm still on the truck route. Called that because the big trucks have to use it to get to Tom Miner, they are too big to use the one lane bridge that crosses the Yellowstone River.
I'm on the highway now in Paradise Valley, more cattle and more little calves.
Our Lady of Lourdes Shrine.
Paradise Valley and more cattle with the mountains dusted in snow.
Another view.
A pair of Osprey on their nest.
This same pair have nested here for several years now, right on the main highway. So wish I had a better lens, they are so beautiful and wish I could capture that beauty with a better pic.
Hello! You have a beautiful place! Space and silence! I live in a large and noisy town . I admire your blankets. They are very beautiful! The whole world! Good luck to you! Olga.
ReplyDeleteBeautiful photos. It really looks wild and wonderful.
ReplyDeleteHello Nancy,
ReplyDeleteI loved this post, such a wonderful landscape and a beautiful place to live. How far is it to Tom Miner?
I am sure Jim is with you in spirit and still loves this place!!
Have a peaceful Sunday,
Hugs, Angela.x
Just amazing. How could you not love living there?
ReplyDeleteDon't know what I like best about your blog, the quilts or the beautiful scenery and animals. My husband and I dream of living in a place like you do, family obligations don't allow for that so I really enjoy seeing life thru your eyes. Thanks for sharing!!
ReplyDeleteLove the photos and the scenes, a place to really center yourself. Even with a zoom, I don't get great shots of wildlife, need an L series to get sharper photos. You can get a cheaper one for around 150 that will do the job, good enough. You should treat yourself, and there are places that pay for the photos for stock photography, you have the perfect place to get nice shots that they can use for calendars and other printed items.
