The Ark Wall Quilt and a Buffalo
I finished the applique on the Ark quilt, made some changes with the animals and decided to add some different sashing to make it larger. The center block is about 20" x 22" and thinking I will add one more big border. Maybe not, it's a nice size now for a wall quilt.
Here's the original from the book, Noah.
Well, I could tell you I was able to snap this pic of the buffalo roaming outside the park, but afraid they are on a ranch that I drive by from time to time. There are ranches that raise them for their meat and hides. I'll let it go at that.

Noah
Decided I wanted to make an ark quilt. Just happen to have Noah from Jan Patek, Linda Brannock and Gerry Kimmel. The book was published in 1991. Wonder what I was doing back then, thinking we were thinking of moving to Montana.
Love this wallhanging with a huge ark, using my vintage Brannock and Patek fabrics from my stash.
Bailey loves all the fabrics, too.

I have it
I have to thank one of my quilting friends from my quilting group that asked if Noah could be in one of Jan's older patterns, yes, some quilters are able to keep track of these things, then I realized I had the book Noah and there is the quilt with lots of other projects with a Noah theme, from Gerry Kimmel, Linda Brannock and Jan from 1991, a Red Wagon book. Something old, becomes new again.
I saw my ortho doc last week and am at full weight bearing, no work for another month, don't think they will hold my job much longer, I keep saying that, and they keep calling to see when I can come back, and then in two months, I will have xrays again, and if not totally healed, he may have to take a peek inside. Inside my hip, I think not.
And a pic of a prim quilt I designed and hand appliquéd many years ago using those typical prim appliqué designs from Patek, using my stash of vintage Brannock and Patek fabrics.
