In Full Bloom

Yay me, was all I could say when I finally finished hand quilting In Full Bloom.

What a challenge.

I used two different #8 Valdani perle cotton threads for the stitching.
I'm not fond of using a thimble when I hand quilt.  I use what is called Vet Wrap.  An elastic wrap bandage that comes on a roll and you can cut it to any size.  I wrap my thump and needle finger to protect them and it also aids in grasping the needle to pull it through the wool.

  7. Your quilt is beautiful, Nancy. But I have to admit I was surprised when it appeared in my feedly feed for your blog. I don't believe I've ever seen you use this range of colors before. (But then maybe I haven't been following long enough.)

I can imagine that the quilting took a while, even with perle cotton.

    Gorgeous!
