A beautiful shot of Tom Miner Basin where I live, you're looking south towards Yellowstone and the river. So beautiful right now with the snow melting and everything is turning green. We live on that small mountain in the background, like you can really see.
Here's the next installment of Folklore. Love the look of this block, like I haven't liked any of them. And then the Black Quilt, I added the applique vine inspired by designer Denise Schmidt who makes awesome quilts with sparse applique. The vine is wool, made from those Moda wooley strips. Just need to add the binding, will use the red flower print for that.
I've been to Juliann's blog and found Julia's link. Juliann has started her Noah quilt which I want to do next and Julia has finished hers, so primitive, just love it.
I love those Sue Spargo blocks. I was so tempted by that block of the month - guess I will have to wait for the book. And you black quilt is very wonderful. Thanks for the shot of inspiration.
ReplyDeleteEach folklore block is more wonderful than the last. Sue is one talented designer!
ReplyDeleteThe black quilt IS different - that's what you told us it would be on your list. Very intriguing. Sparse is certainly the word to describe the applique. Unusual, and I find myself drawn to it even when I'm not sure how I feel about it. Maybe the richness of the wool? I LOVE wool. You are so very creative, Nancy!
I really love your black quilt! For some reason it reminds me of Clint Eastwood! Did he have a poncho a bit like that?! It's stunning, anyway!
ReplyDeleteYummy - that sums it all up. The black quilt, Folklore and the view.
ReplyDeleteThe view of that wide open space is to die for from crowded old England. Love your applique on the black quilt - will you add flowers and leaves or is this the final product?
ReplyDeleteIs that me your mentioning there ? If so thanks ! - love Julia x
