My boss at the clinic just got back from working in Alaska and Ecuador and brought me these wonderful gifts, a beautiful handmade scarf from Ecuador and a pincushion made by the natives from Alaska. The pincushion is made from polar bear hair, it is so shiny and coarse, they use every piece of any animal they have to sacrifice for food.
On a trip to Alaska, I bought a thimble made from seal which I promptly gave to a friend when I got home . . . now I wish I would have gotten two *s*
ReplyDeleteMan that fur is beautiful! Sad to think it came from a polar bear - but if they killed it for food it doesn't make me so sad. That fur is wonderful!
