So happy to see my first
Golden-mantled Ground Squirrel of the season.
Winter wasn't that harsh this year
except for unending snow in February...
but you still never know if these little ones will
emerge from their long hibernation.
I recognize her from last year..
Odd shaped nose and scars on her head and back.
Those nails grow long during their hibernation.
Whew...
That's great she made it through the winter! Is she eating an almond? And would you say spring is here when the little ground squirrels come out or might there be more snow and cold weather?
