Sunflower Tote

I finished sewing this wool tote last week.  It was started years ago and I had an urge to finish it.  Wool seems to be on my mind.  It was made from a Woolrich jumper that I had bought from the thrift store.

I cut the shape for the tote so that I would have the pockets on the front to add interest and a place to tuck small items.

All the applique is wool.  I found an older Brannock and Patek cotton fabric in my stash for the lining to coordinate with the golds in the wool applique.

  1. I really like how you did that, never thought to make them into purses with the pockets on. I already cut all mine up, but will have to look for ones with pockets for another time. That really makes a nice tote with the lighter wool and the flowers.

  3. I love bags and this one looks great. The sunflowers are wonderful. Do you ever feel tempted to embellish your wool applique now, after working on Sue Spargo projects?

  7. Nice, nice. I like sunflowers so this would make me very happy.
Did you find a new place to sell your handmade items? I think you said the place you had your items at was going out of business.
