These are all pictures of male Evening Grosbeaks. Large, colorful bird with a large beak to crush sunflower seeds.
I'm learning a new software program to process my photos, Lightroom 5, and it opens up a whole new learning experience.
I need to make a quilt inspired by the colors of his feathers.
I don't have one nice bird feeder due to bears. I use an old wooden ladder with boards on each step for a feeding tray. They seem to like it.
Enjoy the beauty of nature...
That is one beautiful bird and he looks like a clever boy too! Beautiful pictures!

That is a beautiful bird and I always love when you shoot them on the pine branches.

We have the grosbeaks visit in late spring and stay for about 2 months. In July it gets too hot in the valley and they move up into the higher elevations. They eat us out of seeds every day.
ReplyDeleteHow very beautiful ! I can see a quilt using these colors for inspiration.

What a beautiful bird! I've never seen one of these. Isn't it wonderful how animals and birds have the most wonderful colors that always look perfect? (And would look great in a quilt ;o)
ReplyDeleteWhat a beauty! We get Rose-breasted Grosbeaks in the spring for just a day or two as they migrate... some years I get to see them and some years I don't. I always enjoy the show!
