Working on My Prim Flying Geese Quilt

The triangles are still pinned as I work on aligning the rows and such and taking another picture to see if I like the arrangement and the fabric choices.  I see one triangle now that needs to be replaced or shuffled to a different spot.

Bailey is making it difficult to get that last row straight.  He could be out on the roof enjoying the sun or watching the birds, but he'd rather be in the same room with me.  The background is a black brushed cotton with a white pinstripe from Brannock & Patek.  The applique will be a challenge on the large background unless I end up cutting it into sections.

Wanting to get the Collector Series basted for quilting, Bailey has other plans.  He's a sweet Burmese, very shy.

A young mule deer out back, starting to grow out his antlers.

  1. Hi Nancy,
I always admire your flying geese and your patience to appliqué them all on to the background. This quilt is going to be fabulous.
My grandson has a dog named Bailey, a big soft creature who also likes to be in the middle of everything.
    Sending you hugs,

  3. I love flying geese quilts! This one will be particularly interesting because of the setting and I read you will be appliqueing (did I write that correctly?) them? Never seen that before! Can't wait to see more.

  5. Wether I pieced or appliqued, I am sure my triangles would be crooked, lol.
I like the idea of doing it with circles.
