Primitive Watermelon

I found this little pattern yesterday when I was looking thru some of my older primitive patterns.  Watermelon Pillow by Jan Patek from 2005.
Decided I wanted to make it, a small quilt or mat, I started the applique on it last night.
In Gardiner the other day and snapped a pic of the historic Roosevelt Arch leading to the entrance to Yellowstone.  The arch was dedicated by President Roosevelt in 1903. Tourist season isn't here yet or there would have been a line of cars under the arch.

  3. If you turned the background sideways, you could applique the watermelon and stars and create placemats. I love to eat watermelon and have them in a quilt. Good design.

  5. That is a fun pattern and perfect for summer. My dad was in the CCC when he was young, but no idea what projects he worked on.

  7. Love that little pattern. And as for tourist season--we were in the Rib and Chop in Livingston last night, a MONDAY night and the place was packed--judging by the foreign languages we heard tourist season has started!
