A Bear on Sunday

A young male black bear this morning, very unusual this time of day and as warm as it is.  Had to use some harsh words to run him off several times, following the Bear Whisperer's technique, he's young, so he hasn't learned what may get him into trouble.  Brought the feeders in and will keep them in until I'm sure he's headed to the higher elevations.

  1. Whoa! What an industrious bear searching in your provisions for the birds. Is that a yellow bird on the feeder while he is close?...or just something else that looks like a birdtail?

  2. Love the wildlife pictures you post. I saw a rabbit this morning and that's about as wild as it gets around here.

  3. What excitement there where you live! A true adventure. I walk out and find the neighbor's kitty cat on the roof of my car. And that, my friends, is about as much excitement as can be found in Centerville, Utah!!

  4. YIKES!! My biggest fear is meeting a bear on a hike...I carry a whistle but not sure if that would be enough?? I guess I would yell and scream and say a few choice words myself!! Take care and stay safe!!

  6. It's amazing to see your garden from a sleepy English cottage with only a dairy herd at the end of my garden.
I do feed the birds but don't have bears calling round.
