Hell on Earth

The days have passed oh so slowly, Jim is still not eating or drinking. How long this goes on, I don't know, I've been a nurse for a long time and certain events will make the difference.

He's been very restless, talking to people who have long passed.

He fell out of bed one night regardless of the railings we had set us, called two strangers from down the road and they were there in a minute to carry him back into bed.

Jim is not sleeping regardless of the medicine I give him. He pulled his catheter out and and being by myself, ignored the blood and urine and inserted another. I sleep next to him at night, but little sleep comes. Always on the alert.

Iva, the lady from Pennsyvania who gave him his birthday party, sent him an early Valentine's gift, more food than I could every hope to eat. My friends from work and down the road, run errands for me every day and bring more food and money.

My thoughts on Jim will only come only on my blog now, little interest in any quilting right now.

  39. I'm very concerned about you and am checking on your site every day ... is there something particular, specific I can do for you? If I knew what town you are in I could have friends come by and help you in any way you need. I know that sounds weird but we own a home on Flathead and have friends all over the state. I just know there are many who could help, assist, relieve you of this horrible burden. I'm quite serious. Do you need anything ... financial help? Groceries? Supplies? Please let me know ... my email is mgailberry@gmail.com

  42. Your post on Jim and your caring of him have touched me deeply. I too nursed my husband to a peaceful end. May your days be peaceful - despite all the hard work you do. There is some "contentment" in knowing that you are lovingly caring for someone you love deeply. My thoughts are with you.
