Feathered Star

After reading Libby's blog today and the fact that she is going to start handquilting her whole cloth with the cooler weather , I decided it was about time I started to hand quilt this monster of a quilt, Feathered Star from Jan Patek's Girl Gang many years ago, designed by Cherie Ralston, all hand appliqued and I hope you can't see the date I actually finished the top, already changed the date two times, so now it is on the floor, ready to be basted and then I will hand quilt it with linen thread, Just might still be working on it this time next year. And then someone was talking about disorganization, I like to think of my fabric room as disorganized in a creative way. The frog is the only one that rides that bike now, no clue why I've left it up there, the unrealistic hope of getting in shape.

  1. I LOVE that quilt. I recently found your blog and read all of it. I always wished I had purchased this kit and when I saw it in one of your early entries I searched for it online and found the pattern. Now I need to dig through my stash of Jan's fabrics to make it.
I'm currently working on Jan's 2002BOM so you're not the only one who gets behind. LOL

  3. Love this quilt - I have one older than that about 2/3 hand quilted - I really need to finish it and will try to use your example as an inspiration.

  4. Hi Nancy...love the quilt! It is terrific! Just zipped over to wish you, family and friends a very Merry Christmas and Happy New Year! I always enjoy visiting quilting friends to see what they're up to now that I don't quilt much myself any more. Too busy rug hooking!!!!! LOL
We're knee deep in snow here in Vermont and I imagine you have a lot too!
Enjoy the Holidays! Sunnie : )

  5. At least your top is finished! I put the same date on my center block - and am stuck at the unfinished Carolina Lily blocks stage. Definitely one I need to focus on this next year.
