I started designing and then appliqueing this primitive quilt several years ago, it had a different border then, not as many flying geese, posted a pic to a Yahoo group I use to belong to back then. Not one person commented. Okay, I said to myself, back to the drawing board, removed the border, added more geese, which I am still doing and am still appliqueing the small ones that are there. Everything is needle turn applique, I'm hoping with the addition of the small geese at the top, it will become the primitive quilt I want it to be.
Wow, I am shocked that no one in your Yahoo group commented on this quilt because I LOVE it!!! The elements are beautiful and it flows together so well. Can't wait to see it all done-done!
ReplyDeleteI can't believe no one commented either. It's really gorgeous. I can't wait to see it finished.
ReplyDeleteI don't remember you posting this at all. Maybe it was on the Purely Primitive list after I left? Anyway, I LOVE how this is looking. So diferent than any primitive quilt I've seen before. You are doing it yet again, coming up with a fabulous original design. Eager to see the evolution yet to come.
ReplyDeleteWell, I sure love it! Warm and primitive with an artistic flair. You have a terrific talent for bringing a piece all together.
ReplyDeleteIt's a wonderful piece, Nancy!
ReplyDeleteNancy you have outdone yourself again. This design is fabulous! I love all the circular motion. Great job!
ReplyDeleteIt is a wonderful piece. The first thing I thought of was the nursery rhyme:
ReplyDeleteHey Diddle, Diddle,
The Cat and the Fiddle
And the cow jumped over the moon . . .
Don't know why this rhyme popped in my head, but your quilt does remind me of it.
Everything you do is gorgeous .. this wallhanging as well! It looks primitive to me.
ReplyDeleteAll of your work is terrific. It is possible that nobody commented on your Flying in Circles because they didn't your message due to some yahoo glitch, or they were just too busy to click on it right then. Timing is everything. This is a beautiful quilt. It is an amazing amount of piecing - circles and triangles scare me by themselves, much less combined.
