Another Cross Quilt

I seem to be working on Cross quilts.  I made the center cross block a year or so ago as well as several others using Jim's shirts and had not made them into a quilt.  So playing with some fabric strips came up with a wonky quilt that I like.  The crosses in the center are all needle turn applique. The fabric strips are all various shades of aged muslin.  I'll need to label the strips so I sew them in order.

Your quilt is wonderful. The strips are absolutely a maze and NOT a traditional log cabin arrangement. I wouldn't even know where to start to label them for order. However you came up with the idea, it's a very effective, unusual border arrangement! All your "cross quilts" are exceptionally meaningful and touching to my heart. Thanks for sharing.

  7. Beautiful. Love the simplicity of it and that the cloth has such meaning and memories. Exactly why our craft or art has such significance.

  8. Love your Cross quilts Nancy, thanks for the share. The squirrel from your last post is adorable; the extra little tuft of fur at the top of their ears is cute. Here in NC our squirrels haven't that.
I just purchased the Spring issue of Primitive Quilts & Projects, making your Montana Majesty is on my to-do list :) Congrats on having your work in this excellant publication! Is that your home/couch the quilt is photographed on?

  9. These quilts feel like a great way to process the heart piece of your quilting. I think I might need to borrow this idea for some fabrics that remind me of my mom.
