  1. We have been very fortunate here in the NC mountains to have had plenty of rain this summer. It is scary that so much is happening in this country - fires, drought and storms. I do hope that this is not close to you and that you are safe.

  2. about six years ago we had to evacuate ended up at the coast, late at night all you could see around you was, what seemed like, the world on fire.....so very overwhelming......

  3. Unfortunately we know only too well about fires here...a few years back the whole southern part of the state was on fire...I live so close to the mountains and fire is the biggest fear here. It was just 6 years ago that we had a 32 mile wide fire in our local mountains. Stay safe...I hope the smoke ans embers aren't too close.

  5. It is so sad to see that, especially since I know how beautiful your area is, from all of the photos you have shown us. I pray that the areas get rain and end the fires.

  6. Hi Nancy, I so so feel for you it is such a threat where I live in Crest.I will always remember being at the bottom of the hill and the Cedar wildfire we could see was in Crest. We were evacuated for three days and were in a parking lot looking up at the flames and Life was going on and yet we were in the middle of this parking lot not knowing if we had a home or not. Cheri

  7. This picture is just heartbreaking....I feel so bad for, not only the potential loss of homes, but for the loss of wildlife and habitat as well as the watershed. You and your family and animals are in my thoughts and prayers. Come on cooler temperatures, no wind, and higher humidity....!!

  8. Wow, I so wish this fire season was over! I think about all those affected by the fires that seem to crop up daily. Praying for rain-or even snow.

  9. The intensity of that fire looks so powerful no wonder you are longing for winter.
The last picture is such a contrast peaceful and serene.
I've been thinking of you and your wildlife.
    Keep safe,

  10. The photos are gorgeous but the destruction to the mountains makes me want to just cry!!!! Even now, years later as I drive home through the Bitterroot it is not the same after the fires that swept through there......

  11. Wow, I bet you smell the smoke too. Utah had alot of wildfires this year. Then it rained and there were mudslides where it burned. It is sad. But like we saw with Yellowstone, new seedlings and growth will come. Constance
