Cross Quilt
Started on the Cross quilt, I cut the the crosses out first from Jim's shirts and am appliqueing them instead of sewing them to strips as Linda did. Then I'm adding the strips to the center cross. Linda's is a wallhanging size, going to make mine just a little larger and then see what I have left of the shirts.

I used to save clothes for projects, then started donating them.
ReplyDeleteBut for torn or stained things, it would be fun to keep the cloth for a future project.

Looks like you're moving right along on this quilt. I'm always anxious to see your finished projects. You really are an inspiration to me. Just ordered 7 pattern from Cherie Payne. Now it's time to drag out all the wool I've been gathering for the past few years. ~~~ Linda, NE IA
ReplyDeleteThis is going to be wonderful. I wish I had kept some of my kids clothes for this kind of quilt.
ReplyDeleteWhat a lovely reminder of Jim, can't wait to see it finished.
ReplyDeleteI too am glad to see this progressing and you too. It must be so hard, I can't even imagine. Thoughts are with you,,

Nancy, it's beautiful! I love what you are doing with Jim's shirts, and to have that to hold and cover yourself with will be such a blessing and comfort.
ReplyDeleteIn so many of the antique quilt books are mourning quilts....the time spent with your memories while doing what you love & I'm sure Jim loved about you...a beautiful comfort quilt....
