Ruthie

A member of my group passed away from cancer this past week, it has profoundly affected me. I am angry, depressed at such suffering one has to endure in one's final years, a Grandmother of a wonderful family, she was so excited to have finished four family photo quilts of her family. And with the cancer spreading was still looking forward to quilting yet another quilt.

Here is her last message to the group; I have been keeping up with all the news, projects, photos, and enjoy it all. I know you all will benefit from the good advice and friendship. The reason for my little "vacation" is the on the 23rd of April I was discovered with cancer. No symptoms, still none, I feel fine, very upbeat, I have two more radiation treatments on my head, then the chemo begins. Like every one else, I'm going to live til I die, enjoy all I can and not waste time on silly stuff. My family and friends all know very well that I am hard headed, strong willed and have laughed my way through life what ever it has handed to me. I'm not changing now. Now to the important issue. I just started Mimi Dietrich's Cottage Flower Pots. What fun. I'm not a morning person but just can't wait to get started. Hope you all have a good day and happy quilting. Ruthie from Ohio

I've posted some of her wonderful quilts.
