Oh, just stuff!

Here's a couple of pics of a late winter storm and my wildlife friends, my little orphan yearling, looking a bit snowy faced.

A friend from my quilting group made this wonderful sewing purse from crewel upholstery fabric, the crewel work is wool, inside are two vinyl pockets for all my threads and needles.

And then a bear mat I made for the upcoming tourist trade, all wool, some of the wool has been aged with walnut crystals and those are antler buttons that I made from when Jim use to go out and find antlers as a hobby. I cut them with an electric saw and then drill the holes.

And then a wonderful find at the thrift store today, 50 cents for this vintage wool shawl like thing with fur, will probably make a tote out of it for the tourists also.

Awww, the little deer are so cute! That yearling is just precious. That's an interesting shawl thingy. I don't know, but that sort of looks like real fur to me. I need to start shopping the thrift shops!

  2. As always, I just love your wildlife pictures. What a great idea to make things up for the tourists that must flock to your area. I remember crewel embroidery - I did several pieces back in the late 70's/early 80's but I don't think I have any of it left around to make something wonderful like your sewing kit.
