In Full Bloom

I finished my completed top of In Full Bloom over a year ago.

My second attempt at hand quilting it.  I removed the stitching on my first attempt because I was like what are you thinking doing this by hand.  So I removed the stitching.  Pondered machine quilting it for months now and just can't get away from the idea that it needs to be hand quilted.  So I started a more meandering stitch with Valdani a cream variegated perle cotton that I think I will like.

  1. I'm glad you're sticking to yours guns and hand-quilting it. It will be stunning when finished and you'll be happy you did.

  2. With the wool it's such a handful to hold. I haven't decided what will happen with my BOM 2015 as far as quilting goes. Not too keen on the borders as shown on the email. I may do my own thing with them but will decide when the package arrives. Your quilt looks lovely. Are you quilting with a large stitch>

  3. That is beautiful and I can imagine trying to quilt it, but I have to admit, I find hand quilting relaxing and not having to worry about the thread turning into nests;)

  4. That is a quandry that we face sometimes. To hand quilt or machine quilt. Looking forward to its finish.

  6. A beautiful project. Yes, sometimes a quilt 'deserves' handquilting. Loads of work, but so worth it.
