Bison from Yellowstone

Out and about the other day and able to take a series of photos of a small herd of Bison at the North entrance to Yellowstone.  It's been a harsh Winter for the wildlife.  Over five hundred Bison have been slaughtered that left the safety of the Park in search of food.  The good news is that the Montana Supreme Court ruled yesterday that bison leaving the northern boundary will no longer be killed for leaving the Park in search of food.

  3. It is sad that they can't go where they need to in the winter months and glad they changed the law. They are such magnificent animals. We are getting a lot more critters in our yard, long winters have driven them to the bird feeders, so i leave out veggie and fruit scraps for them.

  7. That is a great law change, can you imagine being killed just because you are in search of food and because us crazy human beings think you should not go being a certain piece of land...... lovely pictures Nancy, such beautiful animals.

  11. Hi Nancy, I was so sad to hear of the slaughter of these beautiful animals, but very relieved about the court ruling. Although I am Australian, I have always loved bison, and am really hoping to see some on my first trip to the USA next year. Thank you for your beautiful photos. Take care and warmest regards
