The Winter Quilt

A member of my quilting group was talking about making this quilt, The Winter Quilt by Jan Patek.  It's in this issue of the Simply Vintage magazine that Quiltmania publishes.

It's also in this book from Jan that I have.  It might just become one of my next long term needle turn applique projects.
Seems appropriate to post a pic from my window of what Winter looks like here.  All this snow came down within hours this morning as the temperature dropped from 45 degrees to 15 degrees.

  1. The snow looks amazing - you have probably guessed this comment is from someone who doesn't experience snow in their neck of the woods....in fact I have only ever seen snow once before so I love seeing all the pics of snow from the northern hemisphere at this tme of the year - a white Christmas is definitely on my bucket list.

  3. I wanted to make the one on the front cover for a start, maybe we can do old patek patterns that we have always wanted to do, for a fun project.

  11. Lovely pattern and I like the trees in the border. I enlarged your photo of the snow and I can't believe how much snow sits on the tree branches! Like Lorraine, I don't live in an area that gets snow, we would have to travel a few hours to visit the snowfields.

  13. That picture is gorgeous; it would make a nice card. Love the quilt; I'll have to look for the book. Thinking of doing a block or two in wool applique depending on size. Please stay safe on the snow and ice.
