Red Work Farm by Laurene Sinema

You may remember Maxine, a member of my Yahoo sewing group, and also a very dear friend, who made the Double Wedding Ring Quilt that I posted not too long ago.  She is a young 89 years old who finds time to stitch some terrific projects.   This is Red Work Farm from Laurene Sinema, a 1996 design that combines red work and applique.  I adore Maxine's finish.  The combination of red work and the primitive applique and farm animals makes for an original design.

Here's a view of the original pattern.  Laurene passed away in 2003 so her designs can occasionally be found on Ebay or Amazon.  I'm glad I've been holding on to my pattern and kit that I bought years ago.
