Bailey and Borders

Bailey, watching me work on the borders for the Baskets quilt, he's too comfortable to actually get up and get in my way.

Ready for the first border, although I need to sew a stop border between the appliqued borders, but it can wait until I finish the first border.

A picture of the swag borders from the pattern, the borders are large, first one is 80+ inches long by 13 inches wide.

  2. Hi, Nancy, What a pretty cat. I have to ask you how you went about mounting your sewing machine in the antique sewing cabinet. I have one of those and I want to do that too! Is it hard? What all did it involve?

  3. Hi, again, Nancy, forgot to say how much I love the quilt you are making, and the scallop border will be beautiful! I did a block of month quilt once will a scalloped border, and I love it.

I would also like to know how you mounted the new sewing machine in the treadle base. My mil has one she is giving to me and I would love to actually use it. Thanks.

    1. Susan, the old sewing machine was removed from the cabinet, thinking Jim just removed the hinges and such and it was easy to remove. He made a small box to sit down into the cabinet and the new sewing machine slips down and sits on the box. It's not permanently mounted to the cabinet. You will have to get the right measurements for your machine so it sits flush. I hope that makes sense.
