Up On the Roof

A song from the 60's, from the Drifters, "on the roof, it's as peaceful as it can be, and there below the world can't bother me," and as it was today as I appliqued on my primitive Starburst, only another peek.  Appliqueing triangles, could have sewed them with the machine already, but then, rather be "on the roof," in the sun, stitching by hand.
A view from the roof.

And another.

  3. I spent the day in Memphis today. It was my daughter's birthday and we hit a HUGE consignment sale for new mommy's at one of the local elementary schools (it's Spring Break here). Got back home late and asked hubby for the day off tomorrow. I'm planning on finishing up block 5 of By Wisdom a House is built and maybe a little scrapbooking too.. The sun was shining here too and I hope it shines tomorrow. I love your view!

  4. The 60's that was my era and Motown was my kind of music.
I will think of you 'Up on the Roof', peacefully stitching.
    Hugs, Angela.

  5. Anxious to see the full view of your quilt (and keeping my fingers crossed there might even be a pattern *s*)

  7. This whole week I've been sitting outside as much as possible. The weather has been glorious. I understand your desire to stitch out on the roof. Just wish my view was as fabulous as yours. I really need to go home and visit my parents so I can breathe in my Montana mountains...

  8. I noticed your "Nancy in MT" name while on Sweet P Quilting and Creations. Sat down the other night and read your blog--knew when I saw the name right where you live. We live south of Big Timber. My heart goes out to you Nancy, I read the whole blog. I too am a nurse but I don't do much hand quilting, I have a longarm. Your creations are gorgeous and I love the "Cross" quilt header photo. www.tinteepeelogcabin.blogspot.com
