A Little Porch Time Lap Quilt

I was planning on stitching Lynda Hall's A Little Porch Time BOM, don't see it happening.  I have two blocks finished and they are each large, 18" square, so I decided that I would add some strips and a large border and make each one a lap quilt.  Here is the progress on the first one and what the block looked like before I started.  I appliqued wool to stitch the center instead of sewing it.   I just found a black with red stripes in my stash to add as the border and that should make it a nice size.

  3. I think they make great, small projects and a nice way to do them without stressing over doing a large piece.

  5. Sounds like a great plan! I started this quilt last year and didn't get very far either. In fact, I have quite a pile of abandonded projects from 2011,

  7. I did one block. The sunflower same as you. I am not fond of it and would like to maybe do it in different shades than what I used.

  8. I really love Jims Cross Quilt as your new header, it looks so lovely and calm out in the snow.
The sunflower block looks great as a little quilt, wonderful warm colours.
Is it more big stitch quilting?

  12. Personally I think lap quilts are the best. Not too big, not too small, juuuuust right.
