Picasso

I ordered a few things and all the packages were there yesterday when I went to the post office. My muslin strips for the Cross quilt, beautiful variations in the shades, so I can start that soon.

A free magazine from APQ, gift for returning a survey.

A new way to transfer photos and such with TAP, Transfer Artist Papers that an online friend told me about, and cool paper/fabric called Lutradur, so of course had to order two of the books from the designer so I know what I'm doing. Her name is Lesley Riley. Need them to make some quilts and postcards for the tourists if I want to make some money.
And for some reason, have the urge to make a grungy doll or angel. Trying to expand my range in the primitive world. So two great patterns for angels and a doll. Plus she has great directions on how to really grunge stuff.

So Picasso, you say. The pattern designer had this saying stamped on the back of the envelope from Picasso,
"Art washes away from the soul, the dust of everyday life." I love that saying. I need to post in on the sidebar of my blog.

And to finish off my thoughts for today, Jim's family had a Memorial for him at his Mother's house today in Florida. I will bury his ashes this week, I have found a spot in the upper meadow among the ancient tepee rings. And I know it's time, because the doves returned today, nesting high up on the cliffs that look over that meadow. I think he will love the spot.

  1. Wonderful new things to create with. I think it will be nice to try some new things for items, for the tourists. I know Jim would love to be in the upper meadow, looking out of the lands he loved so much.

  6. It all sounds good Nancy. I continue to think of you so often, with prayers for continued comfort. My 8 year old granddaughter prayed with me today for a friend who is sick, and she asked for courage for her. It is courage we need to get through these tough times, isn't it?
    Blessings upon you,
    Kathy

  7. Hi Nancy,
I know that saying applies to me although i haven't heard it before. I may use it in one of my collages.
I've work with Lutradur and it's fun.
Those patterns look great and I'm sure you will have fun 'grunging.
I'm sure Jim will love that spot and be able to 'fly' with the doves.
    Hugs, Angela.
