completed and then the quilt so far. The little pink circles on the leaves and the black eyes are made with a punch hole, Sue comes up with the neatest tricks and embellishments.

Very warm here for Montana, 90's, so fire season has started early with a fire outside of West Yellowstone. So warm I was surprised to see a black bear walking around a couple of nights ago, the moon was full and I could watch him as he made a wide circle around the house, stopping to sniff where the bird feeders usually hang. Then off he went into the woods.

So

while some of our fellow bloggers are oh so lucky to be at Primitives of the Midwest, I will start my June installment of Folklore by Sue Spargo, like I was actually taking a class from her. One of these days.

Father's Day

In remembrance of Father's Day, here are some old photos of my Dad, he passed away years ago. The first one is of him in Belgium during the war, he's wearing the hat, then the second he's looking pretty spiffy for Easter and the last as a child in Galveston in 1926.

   Fons & Porter is finally going to publish my A Penny Saved, been about two years or so since they had the pattern and pics, so this came as a big surprise. I posted about this quilt before, but it was made for the Moda challenge several years ago, all Moda fabric with most being older Brannock & Patek fabrics that I still collect.

Needle turn applique and handquilted.

  I completed the latest block in Sue's BOM, Folklore, plus a pic of the quilt so far, wish I could find the line drawing for the entire quilt, but at the moment where I put it escapes me, but this will be another unusual quilt from Sue, just love her designs as you all know
• Today is Saturday so I'm waiting for our bear to show up, he seems to always come to our house on a Saturday, I'm ready.
