Elk and Folklore

Well, I'm trying to get use to the new blogger, so my pics are out of order, plus I can't delete an extra picture, so I will go with what I've got. Finally was able to catch a few decent pictures with my dig that doesn't have a zoom, the first two are of the elk crossing the road on my way to work, they always follow each other in a line with one or two leaders, one mother was crying out for her babies to cross over, they hadn't been able to keep up or jump the fence so I stopped and waited to make sure they made it in front of the traffic. The other duplicate pics are on the way home in a different spot with more snow, but they love to feed there in the afternnoon. And finally my first installment of Sue Spargo's Folklore that Jeanne is also doing, can't wait to get started after finishing a few projects this weekend.

  1. This pattern is officially called Promise of Spring by Kim Diehl and was published in the February 2007, American Patchwork and Quilting magazine. I re-did the background because theirs was too colorful and busy. I made larger pieces at random sizes and paler colors of beiges and grays.

I had to answer this way since I couldn't find ytour email , soory. Hope this gets to you. I think the magazine is still on the news stands.

  2. The scenery where you live is just stunning, Nancy. How do you get anything done. I think I would just sit, slack-jawed staring outdoors all of the time.
Can't wait to see the Sue Spargo quilt come together. I really want to try one of her BOM's - maybe next year . . .

  3. I agree with Libby, such stunning scenery. I would be sitting someplace warm and staring out the window looking at it all day long.
