Why is no time for me such a big deal,

read this article today on CNN website, I had been feeling sorry for myself several days ago for never having enough time for myself, and then read this article and I'm not alone. Here is a summary of the article, women feel overwhelmed with the insatiable demands on them. Most want peace and time and having this gives one serenity and control over their lives. "If you never have any time except reactive time, things you must do for others, you never have a sense of control. You are interrupted all the time, your brain has trouble resting, chronic exhaustion, the release of stress hormones." All of this can lead to heart disease, diabetes, memory problems and God forbid fat deposits right around your waist. I can take memory loss, but fat around my waist. My point being is we, me must allow that time for rest and solitude regardless, regardless of how it affects others or we will all be quilting together in that heaven we all hope for sooner than we think. I don't know about you, but I have many quilts to make and people I want to meet and places I want to go before that happens.

Here's a quilt I'm starting to work on by Linda Brannock called the Big House.

  3. Oh, I hadn't seen this pattern yet!! I adore Linda Brannock, and have just recently purchased a couple of her older books. Is this an individual pattern or is it in a book? It's awesome! If you can tell me where to find the pattern, it goes to the top of my list! :)
