The Mourning Quilt

Actually I like to call these quilts I make, Cross Quilts, a cross to represent the passing of a life of someone we love.  I hope to be able to give it to the family this week.
In some Native American cultures, feathers were thought to mean ascension and spiritual evolution to a higher plane.  In Christianity, feathers represent virtues, three feathers bound together represent hope, faith and charity.

  4. When my father passed away a very close family friend presented my mother with a feather, then sang a traditional song. It was amazing.
    Your quilts really are touching.
