Last night I was looking for an orange plaid homespun for an internet friend, have had this drawer full of all things orange or orange/red for Baskets, Berries & Leaves, a BOM from 1998.
I intend to make it someday. I have been collecting those fabrics since 1998.
I must have got side tracked, thinking you won't make the whole quilt and made one block into a wall hanging. The design is one that has to be made, so I hold on to those fabrics. I will make it.
So I had one more place to look for fabrics, some boxes in a closet. Didn't find the fabric. Instead I found of box of cards and letters from long ago. Of course some were from Jim or the cats, he would write for the cats.
I dream a lot. And I often dream about Jim as I did last night. I woke myself up this morning singing the song from Dirty Dancing, "I've Had the Time of My Life." The cats were looking at me with a strange look that cats can have as I belted out that song, probably because I can't really sing, but it felt good.

I have a couple of those fabrics, I think from Kelley, she gave me a lot of her older fabrics and I love them.
ReplyDeleteI need to check too, thanks for reminding me. What a wonderful dream to have.

GORgeous! And you go, girl, and sing to your heart's content. While you're at it, dance like no one is watching. We're cheering you on all the way. :)
ReplyDeleteNancy, thanks for looking for the fabric. I think I found a source and will call them tomorrow.
ReplyDeleteI'm glad you could sing and not cry this time. I think of you often, holding your wonderful "internet" friendship in my heart. Keep dreaming!

Hello Nancy, Singing makes the heart joyful soooooooooooooooo sing and sing some more. I am sure the cats really loved it too. Hugs Judy
ReplyDeleteHi Nancy,Sing and smile thru your tears and realize how lucky you were to have a Love that meant so much to you.You were blessed to be such a loveable person to have your love returned back by him. Some people never experience true Love and I not talking about the romantic kind but the self sacrificing Love .The Love of being by a loved one side thru thick and thin. Hugs Cheri
ReplyDeleteThat is too funny that Jim would write notes for the cats! He was a true gem!
ReplyDeleteI have that picture on my someday wall too. It is beautiful. And wouldn't it be fun to come and dig through those drawers with you!
ReplyDeleteBelt out those songs! I find that's what car radios are for: turn it up real loud, windows closed, and sing at the top of your lungs. Maybe the privacy you have up there serves the same purpose? Karmen
