Quilting Primitive Circles and Stars, and A Penny Saved

I'm hand quilting Primitive Circles and Stars.  Using DMC crochet cotton thread.
Using the masking tape for my lines and the big stitch.

Go over to see Libby from Plain and Simple.  She's making my A Penny Saved quilt.  That's it in the picture above.  I made this way back in 2006, I think, for a contest from Moda.  I was obsessed to go to the Houston Quilt Festival, this was the prize, had to use lots and I mean lots of  Moda fabric.  I had circles pinned all over the walls so that I wouldn't repeat any fabrics, 270 hand appliqued circles, Jim kept asking why are there circles all over the walls.  Needless to say, I didn't win, didn't make me feel any better that it got published.  I still missed out on the quilt show.  Had gone several times when I lived in Texas and was always such an awesome event.

And a big oops, the last post has the wrong link to Kelly's blog, I've fixed it if you haven't found your way.

  6. Ugh! I thought the tape was a big cut down the quilt. I was trying to figure out if the whole thing was pieced! I really need to read better. Thank goodness it is tape. Love it! Karmen
