The ever changing weather has brought snow off
and on for the past month.
Probably the last of my photos of the Bighorns
in the snow for awhile...
I've lost track of how many years this Ewe
has been wearing this tracking device.
She's healthy and very pregnant.
And on a different note...
A Pileated Woodpecker...
one of the largest woodpeckers in America.
I've heard the sound of his 'drumming' from the woods
behind the house for days. So a thrill to finally capture
an image of such a beautiful bird
Such a gorgeous bird! And the photo too! I used to see Pileated Woodpeckers outside Atlanta but I am not quick with the camera. Thank you for your photos and posts.
ReplyDeleteAaaah, aren't they lovely. And pregnant, hope that means that spring is on the way where you are. The woodpecker is beautiful, that red!
ReplyDeleteThank you for sharing the wilderness around you with us. Those of us less remote do not have your opportunities to watch such varied wildlife.
