The picture above is the pattern for Cockscomb and Stars, a quilt by Jan Patek from 2006.
Dorothy of Dorothy's Threads of Life blog just finished it. I admire her quilts since her work is flawless and creative whether it's a primitive quilt, a baby quilt, reproductions or those stunning quilts you see the designers from Australia produce. Dorothy can make them all.
So guess what arrived in the mail after I mentioned how much I loved her quilt and that design.
The pattern and fabrics to get started. I've been looking online for more background fabrics since I really want that cream background and I don't have enough in my stash.
Here's a better picture of the quilt. This is courtesy of Jan Patek from her booth at the Nantes Quilt Show in 2011. I love it, my favorite type of quilt... large, bold primitive applique.
Thank you Dorothy!
Check out Dorothy's beautiful quilts and blog,
What a wonderful surprise and so nice that she sent all of the fabrics with it. It is hard to find the old creams, I like the ones with a hint of green in them.
