Stitching on this wool table mat today, making it up as I go along. I cut the backing so the tongues are already attached as you can see. Then I can stitch the gold wool backing I have to the entire piece. Not as difficult as stitching each tongue to the mat. The snowman still needs a scarf and need to add another tree and a little something hanging from the bird's beak. Need to add applique to the tongues, also. Another day of stitching for all that.
And then a close up of the vintage wool ornaments, not mittens as I said in another post. Just wool circles with vintage lace stitched to the wool and a vintage button added for additional embellishment.
I love your new pieces, the snowman piece is perfect with the wools you used and those ornaments are gorgeous, beautiful with the lace and the light shades.

The vintage wool ornaments you made are beautiful and inspire me to try making something similar. Your snowman table mat is going to be adorable and I like your idea of cutting the tongues as an extension on the backing. Thanks so much for sharing.
