Collector Series and More Critters

I'm finally able to get back to the applique on the Collector Series, actually miss not having a real prim applique project to hand sew.  Something about the patterns, chunky pieces and soft brushed cottons in my hands.  The background star is suppose to be pieced, I appliqued it instead, I use the needle turn applique method.
A pic of the pattern, will go back and add the stripes to the basket later.
I know, your ears just look big because your antlers are still small.  You're still very handsome.
Waiting for love, I have someone in mind...

  1. I do enjoy working on a prim applique with homespuns, feeling the need to do some myself. Those ears are so big, but they are so cute.

  2. Love the prim basket too especially with flannel and brushed cotton.I saw some gorgeous flannel at PIQF made by Maywood(I think). It looked and felt almost like wool.
Handsome group in your neck of the woods :-)

  4. I agree, soft fabric in the hand is so soothing. When it's cold it is practical too!
We are seeing the deer here too - drove to the Flatirons summit and they crossed the road on the way up.

  5. :D His ears do look quite large. Antlers are strange things. Walking around in the brush and trees, I imagine they get caught on stuff all of the time.

Your quilt, as always, is beautiful.

  6. Many years ago at Paducah I bought the collector series as a kit with Patek fabrics. I need to pull that out and get busy on it!
